Default Weird question

k, not really weird or anything but.
I've started thinking about it after i saw the tread "artmis has a question" (or somthing simular)

Near yak's bend there is a ranger female named artemis (the one who gives you your first skills in the beginning of the game)
Now i've played a ranger once but never figured out what she does. Normally i let her get killed by the mobs.

Does anyone know if artemis is good for something?

Thanx in advanced
J

that's really a bullshit argument. so if u see an old man on the street getting mugged and beaten to death by a mob of over-aggressive ten year olds, u will think: oh , no use, he doesn't have a green marker over its head.

That was my question board. Anyways that quest, w8 let me rember I completed it, 4 months ago..... well you have to be ranger as profession, and then walk up to her, help her (she normally gets attacked) and she gives ya this quest to beat a lvl 28 boss and then you go back to her.

you dont have to kill a lvl 28 mob for her -.- she gives a quest to get some ranger skills *you have to kill a lvl 17 beastmaster*

They changed it?????? I remember doin it ( May 30th) and it was 4 lvl 18 and 1 lvl 28 and it would take really long to beat them up with 6 lvl 13. Anyway that was when GuildWars was challenging.

Actually Artemis has a quest for Rangers that gives 3 skills as a reward. She gives you Call of Protection, Wirling Defense and Winter.

It was changed after release because people whined that it was too hard. Silly people, that quest was intended to teach rangers how interrupting works. Kill off his helpers and alesia can keep you alive, but if you don't block his heal you can't kill him either and end up in a stalemate.

I'm right ther with you. To me that and ashes where the funnest and most challenging quests. Now they are a cake walk....

And now people end up in Thunderhead Keep and beyond and whine because the boss Monk or Mesmer can't be killed. Pity.

dargon the stalemate was awesome, me and 5 npc's vs this lvl 28 boss... nobody lost health and I was firing my arows again and again doin 15 dmg max... it lasted like 15 minutes before I gave up.

Oh an altheas ashes, 4 vs this entire map full of Charr just waiting to kill one guy, I think I got rezzed 12 times on that map. Rez kill 1 and die.... over and over.

That was so fun.

Yeah, was ashes changed? I did it a couple nights ago and it seemed like a LOT less charr than what I remembered...maybe it's just because I can them out so easily with a high lvl character. But I remember doing the old die->rez and kill->die->rez and kill for that.

Did the same thing with that protecting the gates quest in kryta (where all the undead and bone dragons and all come to attack when you portal) with henchies. Now with my other char and a PUG, we barely died. Difference in henchmen vs. a PUG? Or did they actually simplify the game a bit?

I hope they didn't simplify anything... I thought I was just that good with my new alt.
